What is arthroscopy?

Arthroscopy is minimally invasive surgery in which a small camera (arthroscope) and fine instruments are inserted through tiny incisions to inspect and treat the inside of a joint, most often the knee, shoulder, hip or ankle. Because the incisions are small, recovery is often quicker than open surgery.
