What is rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty is surgery to change the size, shape or proportions of the nose, for example the bridge, tip or width, and can also address breathing problems. The surgeon plans the change to suit your face rather than to a single ideal shape.

Is it right for me?

It suits healthy adults who are unhappy with a specific aspect of their nose, or who have functional breathing concerns, and who have realistic expectations. At consultation the surgeon assesses your nose and skin and discusses what is and isn't achievable.

How it's done, step by step

    A splint or dressing is applied to support the nose while it heals.

What you'll experience

Rhinoplasty is planned as a day or short-stay procedure in an accredited facility. You'll have a pre-op assessment, and your consultant coordinates your stay and aftercare in your language.

Recovery & results timeline

Expect bruising and swelling around the nose and eyes that eases over a couple of weeks, with a splint for about a week. The nose continues to settle over several months, and the refined final shape appears gradually over up to a year.
